2023 ANNUAL REPORT 
FOR THE INDIANA SOCIETY FOR HEALTHCARE RISK MANAGEMENT

Dear Membership,

This has been another great year for our organization! We have experienced an 13% increase in membership as well as new sponsorship with Radiological Care Services and Gregory and Appel. We continue to work towards growth in both areas in the future. Over the last year, ISHRM’s partnership transitioned from SociallySeasoned, LLC, a digital marketing firm, to AdLabs due to the sale of SociallySeasoned LLC. This service is used to update our website. The costs associated with the service remain unchanged with this transition.

The Board also sent letters to 100 healthcare organizations with information on ISHRM membership and conference opportunities. These letters did result in several additional memberships and conference attendees. We welcome contact information for prospective members or attendees; this information can be shared with any ISHRM Board Member. Speaking of sponsors, we now offer several different tiers of sponsorship. If you or your organization are interested in sponsorship, please contact an ISHRM Board Member. The website also features a section called “Connect to Purpose,” where members can share their experiences on how ISHRM has helped to benefit and support their careers in the area of healthcare risk management. In addition to the website, do not forget to visit ISHRM’s Facebook and LinkedIn social media pages for further updates and information about upcoming conferences and content. ISHRM has been fortunate to provide two continuing education conferences this year so far, both of which provided CPHRM and CLE credits. There will be an additional 4-hour virtual conference in the fall on November 10, 2023. The Spring Conference was held virtually on May 5, 2023 and the Summer Hybrid Conference was held on August 25, 2023.

Both conferences were well attended with a diverse and informative slate of speakers. Speaker slide decks from both conferences are available for members behind the logged-in pages of the website. Let us know if you need help logging in! For those members who have an interest in presenting or know of any speakers that you would like to see at an upcoming conference, please contact the Board for more information. At the Summer Hybrid Conference, ISHRM was happy to present the Glenn T. Troyer Outstanding Risk Manager of the Year Award. This year the award was given to Joyce Bruce. Joyce has selflessly devoted her time to the ISHRM Board for a number of years, and currently serves as Co-President Elect. She has served as President, Member at Large and actively participates in the Conference Planning Subcommittee. Her dedication and contribution to the healthcare risk management community in Indiana embodies the essence of both the award and our organization. Please be sure to congratulate Joyce for this well-deserved honor!

Financially the organization remains stable. Aside from tri-annual conferences, the majority of funds go toward insurance and media/technology updates. Due to the sponsorship and membership support, the Summer 2023 Hybrid conference offered a discounted price for ISHRM members. We hope to continue this membership benefit in the future. We would like to thank all ISHRM Board Members for their hard work and service this year, and we invite all members to consider joining the Board for next year. ISHRM Board positions include Co-Presidents, Past Co-Presidents, Co-Presidents Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and Members At Large. A variety of interesting committee opportunities are available. Detailed descriptions of the positions are located here. You can also contact any current Board Members for additional information. Please submit any nominations or applications soon as the new Board takes over in January of 2024! Finally, ISHRM would like to thank all of its members for the continued support to the organization and the field of healthcare risk management in Indiana.
